Practising Self-care in Difficult Situations

Day workshop led by Jackie Carroll

Saturday 1st October 9.30am to 5.00pm

In the workshop we will ask “Who cares for the carer?” We will explore self-care through learning about various mindful practices such as sitting meditation, mindful movement and walking. We will also explore how mindfulness practice and self-compassion can help us to manage stress and burnout.

Jackie Carroll has over 20 years’ experience of working in front-line crisis services for victims of domestic violence and the homeless. Fifteen years ago she experienced stress and burnout from the demands of this work and turned to MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) to help her through this difficult period. Jackie went on to learn Buddhist meditation and has attended many long retreats and she is now a Mindfulness teacher herself with a MA in Mindfulness based approaches from Bangor University, Wales.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

There is no charge. Please bring a contribution to a shared vegetarian lunch (anything will do, cooked dishes can be warmed, we will provide rice). Numbers attending will be limited so for more info and to book a place please contact: teachnat@gmail.com.
